Provide mentorship for girls and young women
Train girls and young women to acquire skills that will make them entrepreneurs.
Offer assistance to girls and young women to improve their livelihoods.
Unemployment, particularly among the youth is all the time on the ascendency in Africa, our part of the world. While the global unemployment rate stands at 5.42% according to the International Labor Organization (ILO) 2020, Africa and Ghana have 6.8% and 4.53% respectively. Youth unemployment is however as high as 12% in Ghana. The situation is even worse when considered along the lines of gender. Unemployment among female youth is always mentioned as a cause for many teenage pregnancies, child abuse, child trafficking, suicide, etc.
However, entrepreneurship is always mentioned in discussions and recommendations to solve this dilemma. The need to train people, especially young women to acquire soft skills to start up their own business and expand to employ other people cannot be underemphasized. Accionar Africa comes in with an initiative to contribute to the livelihoods of many young women.
